If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

  Prompt Response:   If I were to write a poem about my life right now, it would probably be about work, school, and sports. I would write about bettering my grades and trying my best to attend. I would write about working after school and working on the weekends for sometimes long hours. I would also write about trying to get back into lacrosse after not playing for a year. Summary: I would write about sports, work, and school if I were writing a poem about life right now. Reflection:  Thinking about life and what to write about can help you realize how much you actualy have going on.

When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

  Prompt Response:   When I am in a mood that I don't like, I have a few different ways to regulate my mood. I often like to go for a run or go to the gym to try to clear my head. In other instances, I feel like it is better to talk to someone or see some friends to cheer me up. Summary: When I'm in a mood, I like to make good efforts to change that. Reflection:  Learning how to regulate your mood properly is one of the best life skills to develop,

Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

  Prompt Response:   My personal aproach on creativity is always to take the initiative or goal and think about it for a little while, and skim online for interesting topics or influence if needed. When it comes to working on a project, especially a physical project, I always try to think differently and eye catching. I've had many projects I was proud of for example, my top two would be my national history day project in 8th grade and my cell diagram project. Summary: I always like to try to be creative in a different way, doing things differently or with different materials. Reflection:  I think creativity looks different for many people, you should ensure you don't follow influence too heavily because that will drown creativity.

After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

 Prompt Response:   I find Imagery to be the most interesting rhetorical device. It helps the reader to clearly picture what the author is describing and brings emotion to the message. It also clarifies and brings a story to a much more relatable level. Summary:  Imagery is useful because it gives the readers a vivid image through words. Reflection:I think Imagery is the best because it allows you to see the story not just read it.

Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

Convoluted resonates with me because I can be very difficult. I think that I can be very stubborn when it comes to change or something that is completely optional that I just don't want to do. I think a good example of me acting this way would be when my brother asks me for rides to places. Summary- I can be very difficult and stubborn, so I think I relate most to the word convoluted. Reflection- I think that relating vocab to yourself can help you learn and memorize it better.

Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

  Prompt Response:  The feeling of not feeling like yourself is hard to describe. However, I think Ive expierenced something close to that at one point in time. I was friends with some people who weren't really like me. Overtime I began to make poor decisions following their lead. I realized I wasnt feeling like myself after a while and had to make the mature decision to drop them. Summary: I have followed the lead of others, making me not feel like myself. Reflection:  Not feeling like yourself probably means you should seek individualism.

Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

  Prompt Response:   A place where I feel the most at peace is the beach. Being at the beach is relaxing and makes me feel very worry free. I enjoy the breeze and salty smell of the beach, and the fact that all my plans have to be is to sit and relax. Summary: The beach is where I feel at peace because of its simplicity. Reflection:  The beach is so simple because of the carefree and relaxing ideas we link to it, many things could be peaceful if we just changed the way we think about them.

Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

  Prompt Response:  I have had to rely on others many times in my life, especially my parents. For example, I was 14 at my first job, so I always had to get a ride from my parents. If they hadn't given me a ride, I wouldn't have been able to work. Summary: I had to rely on my parents to get me to and from my first job. Reflection:  Relying on others is okay as long as its not abused or unnecessary.

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

  Prompt Response:  Ive learned a few life skills in high school that I believe will be beneficial to me when I'm out on my own. For example, my knowing how to drive has allowed me to get to places that I need to be and taught me time management. I also have learned how to balance school work with my free time activities. Summary: I have learned life skills such as driving and time management that will help me after high school. Reflection:  Nothing can fully prepare you for being out on your ow,n but many things can help you prepare.

 Prompt response- I spent my holiday break doing many things, mainly spending time with friends and family. I also worked about 25 hours to get some more money to put into savings.  The first goal that I hope to achieve in 2026 is improving my grade average to all a's. This goal is important to me because better grades will allow more opportunities for my future, such as scholarships and different colleges. To achieve this goal I plan to use my planner and ensure that I am well prepared for all 7 of my classes each day. I plan to achieve this by the time we hit summer break.
